The 101E has to my ears, in a good set up, a truly gorgeous tone that sparkles with a rainbow of timbral colors - from the "woody" quality of a guitar body, to the brassy tones of a trumpet, etc.

Amp for MBL 101e mk2 Speakers I may be acquiring a used pair of MBL 101e Mark 2 speakers (their latest and greatest) at a good price and I will need an amp that mates nicely to them. I can't afford MBL amps so please don't recommend them, recommend something else.

2020-02-03 · The MBL 101E MK2 speakers are exceptional transducers. Of course, like any other speaker, appropriate setup is needed. They provide a fantastic musical experience with a huge soundstage, very accurate image with excellent dynamics. I’m driving mine with a D’Agostino Momentum S250 which drives them with nice control and they play plenty loud.
That's unfortunate, but if you can spend $44,900 on a pair of speakers to indulge your audiophile passion, you're probably able to spend $70,500—especially as you're going to need to drop another bundle on the highest-quality analog and/or digital front-end electronics, cables, power conditioning, and room treatments. The mbl 101e -MKII simply lights up with natural elegance: It is modern and timeless in one, it differs in every respect from conventional speakers, but it is discreetly beautiful.

2018-05-15 · Thanks! They showed the model above the 111F, called the 101e mk2 at Axpona and the little bookshelf speakers. I’ve always been a big MBL fan. I like different! Avantgarde and MBL are my “out of the box” designs. Quad too. I never ever ever ever ever never thought they would sound this good, out of the box (no pun intended) in my room.
And as true art is created by attention to details we have given the mbl 101 E MK II two different loudspeaker cables which enable two separate entry points to the chassis. At the same time a variety of different materials allows you to choose further options.
